In 2009, AirAsia became the first low-cost airline to partner with an NFL team. It was AirAsia’s move to expand the brand’s global reach, two years after our long-haul operations launched in 2007. With the eyes set on expanding our network footprint to the US and beyond, it was a symbolic move to mark AirAsia X’s aspirations to connect flyers from Southeast Asia to America. A dream, made into reality in 2017 with AirAsia X’s inaugural flight to Honolulu.
